WHY “SUN WOLF”?

 

Many cultures have crafted stories and mythologies to explain what was then unexplainable, oftentimes to make sense of daily natural occurrences. In a nod to the company founder’s Norwegian & Sámi heritage, “Sun Wolf” is a call back to the norse myth that the sun, Sól, is relentlessly chased across the sky by the hungry wolf, Sköll. Eventually Sköll will catch and eat Sól…at which time the world will begin anew.

 

We love the tenacity of Sköll, yet hope he is unsuccessful in catching Sól — at least for a little while longer.

The Sun Wolf Energy team is comprised of an extensive network of value-aligned professionals ranging from geoscientists, native pollinator researchers, construction managers, renewable energy legal advisors, and engineers; all lead by Sun Wolf’s consummate problem-solver, Kelsey Putman Hughes.

 

KELSEY PUTMAN HUGHES, MS

PRINCIPAL/ENERGY GEOSCIENTIST

Kelsey is a staunch Mid-Westerner currently residing in Oklahoma where she has spent the past 12 years working in the energy industry as a geologist. She earned her BS in Geology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh (2008) and her MS in Geology from the University of Missouri (2011) and a graduate minor in College Science Teaching (2012). A life-long entrepreneur, Kelsey has co-founded and lead a solar construction firm and in 2021 co-founded the Tulsa Renewable Business Alliance, the first chapter in what is designed to be a national B2B renewable energy business trade organization, led successful Department of Energy grant applications, won the ALLY Energy 2022 GRIT Entrepreneur Award, and is a 2024 cohort member of the Energy Leadership Institute’s Energy Generation program.

 

DAMION HUGHES

FOUNDATION SPECIALIST

Over Damion’s extensive and varied professional career he has generated national recognition as an industry leader multiple times, most recently as the CEO of the nation’s leading solar pile driving equipment repair facility, Sun Wolf Equipment Repair. He earned his degree from Northeastern State Univeristy-Broken Arrow in Criminal Justice; which he applied to his 10 year policing career where he specialized as a firearms instructor and juvenile diversionary program director. Previous to his law enforcement career, Damion spent 14 years perfecting the construction trades. He now contributes his wealth of knowledge of mechanical construction, equipment functionality, and metal fabrication as Sun Wolf Energy’s CMO/Foundation Specialist.
